The All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment (ALICE) was a load bearing system adopted by the US Army in the 1970's. The system along with its pack frame has gone through subtle changes over the years to help wearing a heavy pack more bearable. This ALICE pack frame will work with any standard issue ALICE rucksack.
This is a new, reproduction, aluminum tube & steel plates ALICE frame, without straps. A useful item to fill out your ALICE pack if your current frame has seen better days or if you have obtained a frameless pack. As you would expect, it comes with the correct slits on the frame to attach your ALICE rucksack to. The ALICE pack frame is an excellent bit of kit even outside of the military for anyone doing the hard yards in the wild. Suitable for hunting and camping, pack smart today with a new ALICE frame!

The All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment (ALICE) was adopted as United States Army Standard A on 17 January 1973 to replace the M-1956 Individual Load-Carrying Equipment (ILCE) and M-1967 Modernized Load-Carrying Equipment (MLCE). Although since superseded by MOLLE, ALICE gear is still in some limited use in the U.S. Army in National Guard and training units, as well as by Navy and Air Force ground units.
