The pair is enhanced with the Compound Leverage system. One of SOG's showstoppers. Because of the serrations in the hinge the force you apply on the scissors increases. As such you can effortlessly cut through thick layers of jeans or leather.

The great thing is that this tool is made from materials that can withstand the autoclave. With it you can sterilize the tool after use. Very hygienic. The handle is made from FRN, a fibreglass-reinforced plastic and the tools are made from 3Cr13 steel. Stainless and tough: great for daily use.

The SOG ParaShears also includes a couple other practical tools. A ruler in both mm and inches, cutting hook, glass breaker, tweezers, philips head screwdriver, bottle opener, flat screwdriver, awl, rope cutter (curved serrated knife), and a key for an oxygen tank. If you are using either of these tools when the pair of scissors is closed it might sometimes feel a little strange holding the ParaShears. Until you realize you can slide your index finger through one of the holes. That is when it will feel natural again. If, for instance, you use the cutting hook you will notice this: it will work amazingly if you slide your finger through the ring.

All these tools and options will truly make a difference if you carry them with you! That is why SOG enhanced the ParaShears with a good sheath. MOLLE compatible and made from sturdy nylon. The great thing is that the tool fits inside both open and closed.
